– See: Plantar Muscles of the Foot:  Origin: proximal end of the 5th metatarsal bone.  Insertion: lateral side of the proximal end of the proximal phalanx of the little toe.  Action: Flexes the proximal phalanx of the 5th toe.  Nerve Supply: lateral plantar nerve, S1, S2; (See Innerv.
