- Discussion:
- pes arserinus is final common tendinous insertion of sartorius, gracilis,
& semitendinosus along proximal medial aspect to tibia;
- these muscles serve as flexors & internal rotators, & help protect knee
against rotary as well as valgus stress;
- anatomically this is the first (superficial) layer of the medial compartment;
- deep bursa: deep to pes arserinus insertion;
- rarely affected w/ bursitis (dx of exclusion)
- 1st r/o chondral frx, meniscal tear, or osteonecrosis
Pes anserinus transposition for patellar dislocations. Long-term follow-up results.
