- Discussion:
    - begins w/ the knee in flexion while a valgus stress and internal rotation force are applied;
    - thumb pushes the tibia forward, and the clunk of reduction is felt as knee approaches full extension;
    - subluxation of the lateral femorotibial articulation becomes maximum at about 30 deg of flexion, then as the knee extends further, 
         spontaneous relocation occurs;
    - relocation takes the form of a sudden jerk
