- Discussion:
- tricyclic antidepressants may inhibit the metabolism of neuroleptic agents, just as neuroleptics may inhibit metabolism of tricyclics;
- therefore, special care should be taken when both types of drugs are used concomitantly, esp in initial treatment of agitated depression in the elderly
