- See:
      - Intrinsic Muscles of the Hand

- origin: each from the 2 metacarpal bones between which it inserts;
- insertion:
     - proximal phalanges of the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th digits & posterior expansion of the finger extensor tendons;
- action:
     - 1st abducts index finger, the 2nd radially flexes middle finger, 3rd flexes middle finger & 4th  abducts the ring finger;
     - all assists in flexing proximal phalanges of index, middle and ring fingers at metacarpophalangeal joints;
- nerve supply: palmar branch of   [ulnar  nerve,   C8 ,   T1
- synergists: lumbrical,  Palmar Interossei , FDP, FDS
