- Discussion:
    - may help identify associated abscesses, sequestra, and sinus tracts;
    - MRI may reveal specific changes in bone marrow;
    - in bone marrow, inflammatory exudate has decreased signal on T1 as compared to normal marrow;
    - infected marrow will have higher signal on T2
