- for edema, HTN, CHF;
- Adult: 25-100 mg PO qd in divided doses;
- Precautions:
- may cause Hypokalemia, Hyperglycemia, Hyperuricemia;
- contraindicated w/ allergy to sulfonamide drugs;
- beware of erythematous maculopapular rash;
- Peds: <6mo: 2-3 mg/kg/24hr divided bid; >6mo: 2mg/kg/24hr divided bid;
- Hydrochlorothiazide & Amiloride (Moduretic)
- for HTN and CHF; Adult:1-2 tab PO qd;
- contraindicated w/ diabetes mellitus and renal failure;
- Hydrochlorothiazide & Spironolactone / Aldactazide
- for edema (CHF, cirrhosis);
- HTN;
- Adult: 25-200mg each component per day in divided doses;
- may cause hyperkalemia
- Hydrochlorothiazide and Triamterene (Dyazide / Maxzide);
- for edema (CHF, cirrhosis);
- HTN; Dose: Dyazide:1-2 capsules PO qd/bid;
- Maxzide: 1 tab/day;
- can cause hyperkalemia
