Histological Characteristics of Aneurysmal Bone Cyst

- Discussion:
    - mixture of benign stromal tissue
    - large vascular lacunae separated by septa in which numerous giant cells are found & & filled with clotted blood (blood-filled
              spaces with bland fibrous connective tissue septa) that  resembles cranberry sauce;
              - cavernous spaces vessel lack walls & normal features of blood vessels;
              - stroma has histiocytes, fibroblasts, scattered giant cells, hemosiderin, and occasional inflammatory cells;

    - giant cells
           - ABC may be difficult to distinguish from that of GCT of bone;
           - large amounts of hemosiderin;

- Secondary Aneuysmal Bone Cysts;
    - occur in conjunction w/ other lesions (eg, chondroblastoma, osteoblastoma, osteosarcoma, EOG, nonossifying fibroma)

Giant-cell reparative granuloma of the hand and foot bones.
