Stress



- Discussion:
    - intensity of internal force
    - stress = load / area
    - stress cannot be meastured directly;
    - both stress and force may be classified as tension, compression, or shear
          - tension attempts to pull a substance or material apart
          - compression does the opposite;
    - load applied to bone or implant (eg axial tension) produces an internal state of stress within the material;
