- for absence (petit mal) seizure;
- Adult:500mg/qd PO initially; increase by 250mg/day every 4-7 days as needed;
- Blood dyscrasias, CNS, and GI side effects may occur;
- Caution with renal and hepatic impairment;
- Theraputic levels:40-100; >150 = toxic;
- Peds: 3-6 yrs: 250 mg/day initially, increase as for adult up to 20-40 mg/kg/24hrs given qd; >6yrs: 500 mg/day initially,
       - increase as for adults upto 20-30 mg/kg/24hrs given qd
