- For dx of Myasthenia Gravis and serves as a curare antagonist;
- Anticholinesterase, raises acetylcholine levels;
- Adults and Peds:
- Test for Myasthenia: 0.2 mg/kg; give 1/5 dose IV in 1 min; if tolerated, give remainder of dose; positive test is a brief increase in strength;
- may cause severe cholinergic effects; Keep Atropine available
