- Discussion:
    - specially designed to be bent and twisted in two dimensions;
    - hence they are useful for the pelvis;
    - already low strength of the plate is further diminshed by three dimensinal bending;
    - bending angles greater than 15 deg at any one site must be avoided;
    - oval holes permit self compression & accept both 4.5 mm cortex screws and 6.5 mm cancellous bone screws;
    - plates are available with 3 to 16 holes;
    - thickness 2.8 mm
    - width 12 mm
    - hole spacing 16 mm
