- Origin:
      - the forepart medial aspect of calcaneus; lateral talocalcaneal ligament;
      - the EHB travels over the dorsum of the metatarsal head;

- Insertion:
      - dorsal surface of the base of proximal phalanx of hallux;

- Nerve Supply:
      - Deep peroneal, L4, L5, S1;
      - See Innervation:

- Action:
    Action: extends proximal phalanx of hallux;
    Synergists: Extensor Hallucis Longus;
    (Note: the Extensor Hallucis Brevis is the medial section of the extensor digitorum brevis)
