Chemical Burns

- See: Burn Management:

- Discussion:
    - treatment: copious saline irrigation;
    - hydrofluoric acid
         - severe pain
         - note that this chemical may be found in hydraulic oil;
         - treatment subcutaneous 10% calcium gluconate
    - white phosphorous
         - addition of 1% copper sulfate to the wound helps to neutralize the phosphorous and assists with identification of the phorous particles;
         - copper sulfate has systemic toxicity and therefore its application should be limited
