Brevital: (Methohexital Sodium)


- For IV induction of anesthesia prior to the use of other anesthetic meds; - For IV induction of anesthesia and as adunct to inhalation anesthetic meds (such as nitrous oxide) for short surgical procedures; - Brevital may be given by infusion or injection; - Dosing: - 1% Brevital, is diluted in D5W or NaCl, given at 12 ml/min sec IV; - Cautions: - Note occurrence of respiratory or cardiovascular depression; - Note that Intra-arterial infusion/Extravasation is highly dangerous
