Grana-William-A. Janssen-Thomas. 1988 Year Book of Sports Medicine. Article 4-101. Original Article: Orthopedics. 1987 Jul. 10. pp 1039-1044. Fourteen of the cases were seen less than 1 week after injury, the acute period. The emergency room examination was difficult due to pain and spasm, and under anesthesia examination revealed laxity of a greater degree than was present on initial examination. Six of these 14 patients did not have an effusion. All 19 patients had positive stress views of lateral anxiety showing 5 mm or greater lateral opening.
