in Zone 2. Small-JO. Brennen-MD. Colville-J. 1990 Year Book of Orthopedics. Article 5-12. J Hand Surg (Br). 1989 Nov. 14B. pp 383-391. Active motion might be beneficial in repaired flexor tendons. In this prospective study, 114 patients who had 138 flexor tendon injuries in zone 2 had repair of both flexor tendons by suturing and closure of the sheath, covering of the wound with only paraffin and dry gauzes, and application of a plaster-of-Paris splint with the wrist in midflexion (Fig 5-3). Within 48 hours after operation, passive and active mobilization of the injured fingers was begun. Patients had assessment and instruction twice a week thereafter.
