MAOI.
- usual effective dose of tranylcypromine is 30 mg/day, usually given in
divided doses.
maximum dose of 60 mg/day, in divided doses.
- effects of tranylcypromine are observed after 10 days of treatment;
- monoamine oxidase inhibitory effects may be observed for 3 to 10 days
after administration is discontinued;
- tranylcypromine must be used cautiously in patients receiving
Tricyclics
or other
MAOI therapy;
