One of the weaknesses of the tension band wiring technique for the treatment of olecranon fractures is that it may open up the fracture at the articular surface of the ulna. A simple modification of the technique eliminates this problem by converting the distracting forces at the articular surface of the joint to compressive forces. Author-abstract.
