Wire Insertion Technique
- Case Example:
- 25 year old male who sustained a gun shot wound to the tibia which resulted in
an arterial trifurcation injury;
- although a well aligned manual reduction was achieved, it was not held
with the standard "hybrid - delta frame configuration;"
- in retrospect, this fracture would have been better managed by placing the ring at the
level of the fracture, and then positioning the transfixation wire clamps above and
below the ring so that olive wires could have been placed on the medial side of the
distal fragment;
