- See: Chiari osteotomy

- Discussion:
    - most of these pts will require open reduction;
    - usually involves open reduction combined with femoral shortening;
    - femoral shortening:
          - aids in reduction;
          - decreases potential complications;
          - technically difficult;
    - Traction:
          - should not be used, because of increased AVN & redislocation;
- Acetabular Osteotomies;
    - indicated in older children with residual dysplasia and subluxation in
          whom remodeling of the acetabulum can no longer be anticipated;
