Reconstruction of a traumatic hallux amputation using a plantar V-Y
advancement flap. Botte-MJ; Gellman-H Clin-Orthop. 1987 Jul(220): 211-6 A plantar V-Y advancement flap is effective for reconstruction of a hallux amputation. The procedure provides adequate padding with good toe contour, maintains length, and preserves sensation. Technically, the reconstruction is not difficult. Recovery is rapid.
