Inverted running interlocking suture (IRIS): a technique for rapid
closure of wounds. Lee-H. Department of Plastic Surgery, West Virginia University, Charleston. Plast-Reconstr-Surg. 1993 Jan. 91(1). P 173-7. I have used the IRIS technique during the past several years on a number of patients. Impressive time saving, simplicity of technique, and excellent tissue approximation have been observed. The technique also provides transverse and vertical immobilization of the wound, a favorable condition for better healing. Author-abstract.
