Benztropine Mesylate/ Cogentin

- for control of extrapyramidal disorders caused by neuroleptic drugs and as an adjunct in the therapy of parkinsonism;
- antagonist of acetylcholine, antihistamine;
- Parkinsonism:1-2mg PO qd to max dose: 6mg PO qd in 2 divided doses;
- initiate low dose:.5mg increments 6 day intervals;
- Drug induced extrapyridamal symptoms: 1-4mg qd
