Descending Genicular Branch of superficial femoral artery

- Discussion:
    - descending genicular artery   arises superomedially from from superficial                   femoral artery   just proximal to adductor hiatus, and then immediately, it
            divides into the saphenous and articular branches;
    - saphenous branch anastomosises w/ medial inferior genicular artery;
    - articular branch: descends in the substance of the vastus medialis;
          - it supplies vastus, & then pass over patellar surface to anastomose
                with other genicular arteries; (see Genicular art. system)
